DJ Hero Game: How to Play?

October this year was tagged as the released month of the newest music addiction video game, the DJ Hero. This is the newest gaming installment exclusively made by the same makers of Guitar Hero themselves. If you find the former enjoyable, how much more DJ Hero.

DJ Hero has almost the same concept like Guitar Hero. You still have a medium to use to interact with the game which in this case is a turntable. Colored circles are also present same like the ones found in the fret area of the guitar in the former game. If you think that the two are similar, better think again. You are not about to press and strum your way to winning. You are doing a whole new way of playing.

Here are the things that you need to know in order to have an idea as to how to play the DJ Hero games. These are also the basics on how to master the underlying strategies and climb your way to stardom.

1. Hitting Notes. The closest resemblance of DJ Hero from Guitar Hero is the colored notes that you need to hit. These notes will go down on the on-screen record. As it falls, you must hit the appropriate button which is one of the three when they hit the bottom line. When you perfectly hit it, a portion of the track will play and produce sounds. Much more a score will be generated in accordance to your hit response.

2. Scratching. The main device of DJ Hero is the turntable that looks like the real gadget of any professional DJ’s. Scratching is the hardest skill to master and complex. This is not a freestyle one and if you are a beginner, you will definitely take time to hone this first. You will hold down and scratch back and forth the turntable that comes with the game. With the easy round, you will be spared because you can scratch it in any direction you like. But as the level progresses, you need to scratch it in the direction following the arrows that appear on the screen.

3. Cross-fading. This is a trademark that departs from the usual seamless actions of Guitar Hero. A line will appear on an on-screen record that spans throughout a song. This usually appears in the middle but it eventually shifts to the left or to the right. This is the time when you need to be alert. When the line shifts, you as the player would need to push the cross-fader, which is a toggle that you will hold mostly by your left hand, in the same direction as the line. When it moves back in the middle, the cross-fader must also be moved back in the same spot. The difficulty lies in multi tasking all the three components, moving the toggle, scratching and hitting notes.

The essential steps might be difficult to combine but nonetheless with proper practice, you will easily get use to it. But with a wide array of songs and genre, you will never get bored with this gaming console. Thus, don’t hesitate to have this and hone your DJ skills to the next level.
